Dragon's Breath is the name given to a rare and highly collected man-made glass stone that was used in jewelry making around the early 1900's. Dragons breath was made by adding metal to the molten glass. This is what gives it the electric blue and purple flashes or ripples inside the stone. The stone is usually seen in an oval or round cabochon shape (rounded and smooth top), but you will see other shapes. The stone is unfoiled and transparent. The colors have a mixture of orange, red, yellow, and sometimes even a rose tint. Then depending on the angle that you view it, there is an inner fire of beautiful streaks of electric blues and purples that seem to just levitate inside the glass. At some angles you can see more of the blues and purples. Other angles you may see only small amounts and again at other angles you may see none. This blue and purple "breath" inside the red orange glass is what gave the stone it's name and has captivated many into becoming collectors of this mystical stone.

Opal Art Nouveau Brass Necklace

Featured in an Etsy treasury!http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d38d8f433bf6d91bba6da99/goddess-in-bronzeThe Art Nouveau Period (1880 to 1915) movement was one of the first departures from classical art and design, towards a new modernism. The 'Modernism' and Art Nouveau movements occurred during what was known in France as the "Belle Époque," or "beautiful era" period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Art Nouveau movement focused heavily on the themes of nature, fantasy, and the female form, with sensual flowing shapes that simulate organic growth that is reminiscent of the primeval Garden of Eden. This Mucha necklace features a three dimensional brass sculptured image of a Mucha lady with beautiful wavy hair and gown, surrounded by cascading flowers. She is highly detailed and encased with two vintage faux harlequin opals. She is tripled layered with angel wings. This is a stunning brass filigree. One my favorite Art Nouveau era artists is Alphonse Mucha. Now I have the privilege to create this stunning necklace. I added a vintage harlequin opals for extra shimmer. This is a one of kind hand made item that no one else will have.Real brass chain Necklace is 17" along with a lobster claw clasp. Pendant is approx 3" long from the top of the ornate bail by 1 1/2" wide. Comes in a free hand decorated gift box as shown and FREE SHIPPING!. Perfect for holiday gift giving.October's birthstone treats the eye to an explosion of shimmering colors, not unlike those of a magnificent rainbow following a summer rain. The Opal derives its name from the Latin word "opalus," meaning precious jewel. Prized for its unique ability to refract and reflect specific wavelengths of light, the Opal was called "Cupid Paederos" by the Romans, meaning a child beautiful as love. One legendary explanation for this gemstone's origin is that it fell from heaven in a flash of fiery lightning.
Vintage Victorian Valentine's Day

I've really been into vintage jewelry for the past year. It fascinates me because it represents someone else's life. I love to find vintage lockets from the Art Nouveau and Vintage Victorian era. I also love making vintage style jewelry. Jewelry making is my passion, along with travel and I love being with my husband. Life is good! Sandra

Cool Greek Rings

My husband and I had been trying to get back to Greece since we married in 2004. The cost of the trip was just too expensive. This year I found Gate 1 travel with amazing pricing and went. We had the best time and we were able to renew our vows in Satorini Greece at the Heliotopos Hotel. Lila is the best! I found some cool Greek rings in Athens and just had to pick them up for my online jewelry boutique at http://www.yessy.com/sandrasboutique/rings.html

Inspiration

Where does my inspiration to create jewelry come from? Many, many places. I love to see other people's creations, beautiful outfits that just need that compliment of an unique jewelry piece, inspirations from travel and things of the past, vintage post cards and the list goes on. I love to purchase gemstones and silver and gold findings and then just sit for hours creating new pieces.
I created this necklace during the Spring season. Winter was gloomy and then everything started budding and turning green. This necklace reminds me of Spring.

My jewelry biz
Hi, welcome to my glamorous girl blog! Have you ever seen beautiful gemstones in a jewelry store and thought they were out of reach to purchase because of the price? Well, they are for most people because jewelry stores have a 300% mark up. You can eliminate high priced gemstones and jewelry stores who charge those prices to pay the rent and staff. The majority of my items are one of a kind designs that only you will have to wear. I have always loved real gemstones and it is so much fun to personally shop for and design unique one of a kind pieces for women and men (check out my Greek pendants for men). I'm also having fun with glass tile pendants. Do you have something or someone special you'd like on the pendant? Just let me know. Life is stressful and jewelry makes us feel great. I always add a little sparkle to make you feel special and glamorous. My jewelery is for you if you like to stand out and get noticed. My goal is to design boutique quality items that are affordably priced. Your satisfaction is my goal and I think you'll be happy with the communication and shipping status I provide with your purchase. Every item comes in a gift box or pretty organza bag. Happy shopping and I hope you find something that fits you and your personality perfectly! Visit me at
